Banana Bread with Nutella Recipe

Every night the husband and I have fruit of some kind as dessert. When I can get nice, slightly green bananas they are my choice.
I love a banana just on the edge of ripe. Once it gets too far they are too sweet for me. If they pass the point of no return I pop them in the freezer to use for baking.
I love having the option of always having bananas in the freezer when I am in the mood to bake.

This banana bread with Nutella recipe came about on a day when I was playing in the kitchen.

- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 – 4 very ripe bananas (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 6 TBS unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Preheat oven to 350 and set rack to lower middle position
- Grease and flour a 9 x 5 loaf pan

- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.

- In a medium bowl stir together the mashed bananas, sour cream, eggs, butter and vanilla.

- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and gently fold together until combined. Do not overmix.

- Remove a cup and a half of the batter to a separate bowl and stir in the Nutella. Set aside.

- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Drop the Nutella batter in dollops and run a knife through to swirl.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick comes out clean, about 55 minutes.

- Cool on a wire rack in the pan for about 5 minutes, then remove to cool completely.

How Was the Banana Bread with Nutella?
Very tasty. It’s a bit sweet so you can’t eat too much of it at once but in my opinion it’s worth the splurge. I couldn’t eat a big piece but I did enjoy the treat. Both flavors came through quite well and the bread is quite moist.
It’s holding very well and we are still enjoying it several days later.
